To enjoy the Carioca winter, Paulo Cezar Cordeiro, the executive chef of “Chez Françoise” restaurant has created a special menu with French revisited classics. One of them is “La Tropézienne”, the famous St-Tropez pie that enchanted the french actress Brigitte Bardot .
Arriving in Provence in 1952, Alexandre Micka, a Polish Pâtissier chef, decided to open a Pâtisserie in Saint-Tropez. One of the house specialties was his grandmother’s creamy brioché cake recipe. In 1955, the chef commanded the kitchens of the entire French film crew, directed by Roger Vadim, “And God … Created Woman,” filmed in St Tropez, and recognized as the film that launched Brigitte Bardot into the public spotlight and made her the sex symbol of European cinema for three decades. The chef presented the cake to the actress BB who was delighted and suggested calling it “The Saint-Tropez Pie”. The chef decided to cal it “La Tropézienne Pie”.
